Imagines...

Imagine after 5 months of being violently ill with diahrea and severe loss of appetite diagnosed as "Irritable bowl syndrome" having your docotor tell you that she can't figure out what is wrong so you must see a specialist.
Imagine that your doctor thinks you could have crones syndrome and you request that along with the referral she do a pregnancy test just to get it over with so the specialist can get on with other testing.
Imagine your shock when it is positive and you haven't had any pregnancy symptoms at all.
Imagine going to see your OBGYN knowing you have been given some medications that would harm the baby.
Imagine being overwhelmed with shock when the OB says that although you aren't very big all she can feel is baby, you are 6-7 months pregnant and all this time have not had proper prenatal care or folic acids.
Imagine the week before your level II sonogram being fearful that something is really wrong with this baby.
Imagine the sonogram technician stating, "everything looks healthy. You are only 25 weeks and you are having twins."
Imagine going into labor at 29 weeks and told you would be on bed rest the rest of the pregnancy only to be back in the hospital a few days later and transferred to another hospital that handles labor prior to 35 weeks an hour away.
Imagine thinking you were just going back home and having a horrible ambulance ride where the catheter is in the same arm they have hooked up the auto blood pressure to.
Imagine spending the entire night realizing that you were in very active labor that could not be stopped and since one baby was breach the next morning your family was wishing you off as you were on your way to have an emergency c-section.
Imagine your babies being born and not being able to hold them or take them home for another 6 1/2 weeks after a horrible NICU experience with doctors and nurses that treat you like you were on supervised visitation. Sometimes it seems like a bad dream when I look at my beautiful, healthy, normal and very active 29 weeker twins. I am not sure if it was modern technology, luck or divine intervention but aside from premature apnea, reflux and PDA my daughters came home without any equipment or problems and have been my entire universe ever since.
thank you,
