

Imagine...talking to a a co-worker, a fellow preemie mom of a 27 weeker whose baby has been home for a few months. We
are swapping war stories and she says her worst fear is autism. Hear yourself blurting out that your six year old former 25
weeker has autism. After a very long pause, she says "yeah, but it's mild, right?" And I say no, moderate to severe and the
conversation comes to a screeching halt. She finds a reason to leave quickly and I find myself feeling terribly guilty. Imagine...
