Imagines...

Jessica's Mom

Imagine losing three children at 12 weeks gestation.

Imagine carrying a fourth one and feeling this time would be it.

Imagine being 27 weeks pregnant and driving 25 miles the hospital with a BP high enough that you start having convulsions a few hours later.

Imagine your doctor walking into the room having a horrified look on his face and walking right back out without talking to you, only to come back 10 min. later to tell you that you are going to be transported 2 1/2 hours and your baby is going to be born today.

Imagine NEC, ROP, Infected Central Lines (3) as only someone on this list can truly imagine.

Imagine three years later your little girl rocking her baby, you tell her what a good mommy she is. She says "that's because you taught me how. I love you." And she gets up and walks on the little legs they thought she would not be able to use.

Imagine when your child is 4 moving to a new city. After 5 weeks you realize that even though you know the general location, you have not been by the hospital yet!

Imagine knowing the actual preemie experience is almost over but the feelings and memories will remain with you forever.
